Tutoring Experience

I previously studied Biology at the University of Oxford. I am an experienced tutor with over 6 years’ experience tutoring Oxbridge admissions, biology at A-levels & GCSE, chemistry GCSE, as well as degree level biology and biomedicine.

I have successfully managed to tutor many students both to successfully attain interviews and receive offers. Since beginning my studies in medicine I have also gained 3 years of experience in tutoring UCAT, BMAT, medical school personal statement writing, and medical school interviews.

Outside of tutoring I am an experienced teacher, holding the position of training officer for 2 years at a mental health communication charity, volunteering as a medical tutor within the university to teach the year below in a dynamic extracurricular programme, and working with access programmes to teach in local schools.

Tutoring Approach

I take an approach that focuses on the goal of securing an offer whilst working with the student to enable them to best demonstrate their innate ability to achieve this.

I am convinced that this collaborative approach with the student allows for the student to best focus on the subject in a way which allows them to write a winning personal statement and give an interview performance that will hopefully deliver the offer they want. I will work with students on their grades, personal statement, admissions tests, and interviews.

With these sessions, I hope that my friendly and enthusiastic approach to the subject both allows for the required hard work to get done as well as getting the student to come to a reflective understanding of the fundamentals of the subject that is necessary for a successful offer.
