Tutoring Experience

I love the way our course encourages us to learn independently and to approach clinical principles in a scientific way, and I'm very excited to continue studying and (eventually!) qualify as a doctor.

I've had a lot of experience taking exams, with GCSEs, A-levels and now regular exams at medical school, and I'll be able to share some great learning techniques and revision tactics which will help you do well. It's normaly to find applying to medical school stressful, with all the interviews and admissions tests, but I've come out the other end in one piece and with knowledge and top tips that I'm keen to share with you. I'm in a great position to provide excellent tutoring, having had three years of experience at Oxford University, where most of our learning happens in one-on-one or small group tutorials.

I’ve spent the last year providing one-on-one tuition for BMAT, UCAT and medical interview preparation, supporting students throughout their medical school application process. Several students I tutored received offers from Oxford and Cambridge medical school, and all received atleast one offer. I also tutor Chemistry and Biology A-level in both one-on-one online lessons and revision courses for larger groups.

Tutoring Approach

I'm an organized, supportive and dedicated tutor. I enjoy pushing my students to bring the best out of them and focusing specifically on anything they're finding challenging to get great results for exams and interviews. Throughout my time at medical school and through the medical school application process, I've picked up loads of great exam and interview techniques which I'm keen to share with you.

A-level Biology and Chemistry Tuition Approach

Doing well at A-level is very much a question of exam technique, so I make sure to spend lots of time practising past papers and discussing model answers with my students. I think it’s important to take an integrative approach with subjects such as Biology and Chemistry, so I’ll often link different topics together as we learn – this improves understanding of the subject as a whole and really helps when it comes to the trickier exam questions!

Medical Admissions Tuition Approach

I take a systematic approach to prepping for admissions tests, by splitting the exams into sections and different question subtypes which you may get asked and going through some key methods which will help. Interview prep is all about pushing you – lessons will be difficult but fun, and I’ll tailor the preparation to topic areas you find most difficult, so that when it comes to the interview you’ll be completely at ease!

Applying for medical school is difficult, and can often feel completely overwhelming - the best way to approach it is to take each step in turn and stay organised with your prep. If you need any advice, I'm on hand to help.
