Personally Interviewed
Our tutors go through a rigorous selection process, having been interviewed to assess their teaching skills and subject knowledge. They have extensive tutoring experience with a track record of success, helping students achieve their academic goals.
Tutoring Experience
For the last 4 years, I have privately tutored 15 individuals through the Medical School application process, with all 15 receiving medical school offers (12/15 at top Russel Group universities).
I have created my own set of notes to tackle medical school interviews- this includes a question bank of past interview questions along with model answers, an experience bank and notes on hot topical issues in medicine.
This year, I was appointed by the University of Cambridge, School of Clinical Medicine as an Associate Clinical Supervisor wherein I teach clinical medicine to younger medical students as part of my teaching resposnisbilities. Since 2020, I have been asked to help tutor potential medical school applicants at my old sixth-form. This includes helping students prepare for UCAT/BMAT, helping critique personal statements but most importantly, running mock interview sessions with individualised feedback.
In my first two years of university, I also taught A-level biology to sixth-form students as part of a local access programme.
Tutoring Approach
The medical school application process is long and multi-faceted and I would tailor our approach to your specific needs.
For BMAT and UCAT, we would usually cover the different sections of the paper and how to approach the questions in each section. We would then practise some exam questions with feedback given for each question, before eventually moving on to a mock.
For interviews, this would involve discussing interview tips/techniques, how to prepare for interviews and the different questions you may be asked. We would also discuss topical issues, medical ethics, how to talk about your experiences and most importantly, doing lots of mock interviews with personalised feedback. We would devote extra time to any facet of the application process that you are struggling with in particular!
