Away from my studies and tutoring, I swim, volunteer with the Medics Peer Support society WellMed, act as a year rep for the Medical Education society and write for The Student Newspaper.

Tutoring Experience

Over the past two and half years, I have tutored UCAT and Medicine interview preparation online for over 200 hours. In that time, I have helped multiple pupils achieve scores in the top decile for UCAT – including tutoring pupils sitting UCATSEN – and prepared MMI and panel interview candidates to achieve places at Russell Group universities in the UK and Monash – a top university in Australia. I have also had multiple roles writing practice questions for medicine preparation companies so I can provide unique questions for use in lessons.

Tutoring Approach

The UCAT is a test unlike those candidates will have sat before. My method of tuition is to identify areas of weakness, teach techniques to help improve on those areas and then provide questions as guided practice. I use the online whiteboard to enable me to observe the method as well as check the answer. This allows me to offer tips and hints for the shortcuts required given the tight time constraints of the paper. Outside of lessons, I am available via email and will suggest resources and work to ensure continued progress.
