Personally Interviewed
Our tutors go through a rigorous selection process, having been interviewed to assess their teaching skills and subject knowledge. They have extensive tutoring experience with a track record of success, helping students achieve their academic goals.
Tutoring Experience
I have a grounding in most areas of Mathematics, so will be able to tutor all things from group theory to special relativity and a wide range of problems from Olympiads to GCSE Exams. I am keen to have the chance to teach more students and have also provided support to my school in Oxbridge Admissions with personal statements, interview preparation and MAT/STEP.
Tutoring Approach
My tutoring is based on a style of coaching, getting you to grapple with problems that genuinely satisfying and shed light on the underlying theory and techniques at play. More importantly, I will help you develop the core skills that make a great mathematician – creativity, insight, determination, patience.
Here are what I offer:
MAT/STEP: these lessons will be problem-oriented with regular asides for the theory, which aim to develop the problem-solving skills and exam technique to do really well.
Interview Preparation: these lessons will consist of a mock interview and then discussion, mainly to practise the core skill of ‘thinking-out-loud’ which Oxbridge admissions look for.
GCSE and A-level lessons: covering the specification with lots and lots of practise!
Olympiad Coaching: intense sessions aiming to cover broad ideas and techniques by solving questions together in an interactive format.
University Bridging: either for Maths or a degree which requires a lot of it! The content should be more interesting than most formal exams.
