Tutoring Experience

I have extensive experience teaching and tutoring languages, including a year in Spain as a bilingual teacher for students aged 12–18, covering grammar, translation, and exam preparation. My private tutoring work has focused on preparing students for the Cambridge Language Assessment and Oxbridge MLAT, helping students achieve key qualifications like C1 certifications and excelling in Oxbridge admissions tests.

During university, I supported students with A-level Spanish and MLAT preparation, breaking down complex grammatical concepts and guiding them through translation exercises. I developed personalised mock papers and strategies to address exam challenges, including showcasing thought processes for Oxbridge success. This included developing their grammatical precision, translation creativity, and problem-solving skills essential for high-stakes language assessments.

Tutoring Approach

The MLAT evaluates translation precision, grammar mastery, and problem-solving under time constraints. My approach focuses on setting customised mock papers to identify weak areas and reinforce language rules through targeted exercises. Translation work blends accuracy with creativity, encouraging students to adapt flexibly to complex structures. Practice sessions also develop critical thinking and exam techniques, building confidence in tackling this rigorous assessment.

For Oxbridge interviews, I conduct mock sessions to enhance critical analysis and contextual language understanding, ensuring students excel in both written and oral components of the admissions process.
