Tutoring Experience

I have 8 years of experience providing in-person tutoring for my classroom students in AP Physics, AP Chemistry, physics, chemistry, algebra, and general science. Additionally, I have extensive experience tutoring remotely for high school students in AP subjects such as Physics I/II/C-Mechanics, Chemistry, Calculus (AB), Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Statistics. I also tutor high school (non-AP) subjects like physics, chemistry, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Furthermore, I provide test preparation for the SAT, ACT, and SAT subject tests in chemistry and physics. My remote tutoring experience includes working with students with learning differences, including autism, dyslexia, and dysgraphia.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to tutoring, particularly with AP subjects, begins by identifying what the student is struggling with and understanding their current standing in the course. I start by discussing the specific topics they are working on and identifying areas where they need the most help. Once I have a clear understanding of the challenges they face, I find real-world examples or problems that illustrate the concepts they are struggling with. I use different learning techniques, whether visual aids, problem-solving exercises, or step-by-step explanations, to match the student’s preferred learning style. Throughout the session, I ask questions to gauge their understanding and ensure that they are actively engaging with the material.

I continuously track each student’s progress, using multiple-choice questions at the start of every lesson to reinforce learning and to check for improvements. These frequent assessments help me ensure that the student is not only grasping the concepts but also steadily improving their grades. I rarely encounter tutoring sessions where students are not engaged, as my approach keeps the learning dynamic and relevant. By adapting my teaching style to suit the student’s needs and keeping them actively involved in the process, I ensure that each session is both productive and enjoyable.
