My name is Surbhi, and currently pursuing my second year of Law studies at Oxford University. During my undergraduate years at Stanford, I devoted two years to serving as a writing tutor. In this role, I had the privilege of guiding numerous students through the entirety of the application process, from the initial stages of profile building to the final steps of interview preparation. I am eager to leverage this experience to support and accompany you on your academic journey.

Tutoring Experience

Having grappled with both the US and UK admissions processes, I am equally well-versed with both Common App and UCAS essays, especially where they intersect and diverge in their admissions officer's expectations.

I worked as a writing tutor for two years during my undergrad at Stanford – this equipped with teaching abilities that focus not only on your essay, but on empowering and improving you as a writer.

Having worked for two college counsellors, I have guided several students through the application process… These students have gone on to colleges such as Oxford, Harvard Law School, Stanford, and London School of Economics.

Besides my specialization in college applications and counselling, I am also extremely familiar with the course material for the AP exams in Microeconomics, English (Language & Composition), and Psychology. Tutoring Approach

Essay writing and college applications: we will spend the first session understanding your profile, we will then brainstorm + outline ideas collaboratively, following a strategy I like to call B.O.D. (Brainstorm, Outline, Draft) in order to put your voice forward in the best possible way.

For the APs, we will largely be following the Barron’s textbooks plus some additional resources. I will assign some homework which we will review in class together, along with covering new topics.
