I am presently pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering, having excelled in my A-levels with grades of A* in Mathematics and Further Mathematics, and A grades in Chemistry and Physics. My academic achievements stem from a deep-rooted passion for these subjects, coupled with a genuine enjoyment of the learning process. My goal is to ignite a similar enthusiasm in my students, guiding them to not only excel in their studies but to also develop a profound love for the subject matter, mirroring my own passion.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a tutor for the past 5 years, predominantly delivering Maths tuition for children of all ages. It has been rewarding to know that my support has helped many students reach their potential by moving up sets and performing well in their exams.

My experience has helped me understand common mistakes made by students and has meant that I can tailor my teaching style to match the student’s strengths and weaknesses. Other subjects I have experience in tutoring include Physics and English.

Tutoring Approach

During the sessions, I want to be able to address any misconceptions and ensure that the student’s understanding of the topic is correct first. Then I feel it is beneficial to do practice questions of different difficulties and mould the methodology used into a concise and efficient way, which can help to achieve the best grade possible.

From my experience, doing a lot of questions helps students understand exactly what they'll be tested on and can help find and fill gaps in their knowledge. I also work through the questions, so that I can provide students with a worked solution and not only answers, and we can discuss what can be improved. I feel people often benefit from having this time and attention, which may not be given in a school environment and it can make school life smoother.

Overall, from my sessions I want students to not only feel confident but also to love the subject, which can be achieved by delivering challenging yet enjoyable sessions!
