Tutoring Experience
As a PPE student at the University of Oxford, I specialise in TSA preparation and PPE admissions support. I’ve developed TSA workshops for Year 11 and 12 students, focusing on analytical techniques, mock interviews, and detailed feedback to refine critical thinking and problem-solving skills. My experience includes personal statement editing, helping students communicate academic strengths and ambitions effectively.
In addition to admissions, I’ve worked with students on A-Level Mathematics and Economics, providing tailored lesson plans and revision resources to address specific weaknesses and improve exam performance. I’ve also volunteered as a GCSE Maths tutor, delivering personalised support through past paper reviews and targeted exercises to build confidence and foundational skills.
Tutoring Approach
My TSA tutoring begins with an initial consultation to assess a student’s approach to problems and identify areas for improvement. I focus on developing analytical thinking by explaining not just the correct answers but also the reasoning behind them, helping students refine their thought processes.
Sessions are interactive, using tailored exercises and presentations to engage students and track their understanding. Regular homework and progress monitoring allow me to adapt methods based on performance, ensuring consistent improvement. I also provide detailed reports to reassess strategies if progress stalls. By fostering open communication, I create a supportive environment where students feel confident to ask questions and challenge themselves.
