Tutoring Experience

I have spent the last four years enriching the lives of students through tutoring. My journey encompasses over 250 hours of IB English and Spanish Literature lessons. In each session, I strive to ensure a solid grasp of literary texts, enhance essay-writing prowess, and offer robust support for coursework. I'm gratified by the positive feedback from students and parents alike.

My past experiences include teaching English in volunteer programs in Africa, holding a certificate in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (TSFL), and tutoring Spanish as a language assistant in the US. With ages ranging from 5 to 18, I have honed the art of adapting my teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.

Tutoring Approach

For English Literature: My initial step involves identifying the areas students require assistance with and understanding their current knowledge base. I use unseen texts to practice analysis and interpretation. Essay planning and effective writing of introductions and conclusions are emphasized. Regular feedback on independent work allows me to monitor progress and offer practical exam tips.

For Spanish Literature: I use a similar approach, tailoring it to the unique characteristics of Spanish literature. My strategy includes a deep dive into the cultural, historical, and social context of the works studied, complementing language comprehension with a profound understanding of the narrative.
