Tutoring Experience

I've had the privilege of teaching IB Mathematics for the past four years. In this period, I've accumulated over 800 hours of teaching experience. I've worked with a wide range of students, from those struggling to grasp fundamental concepts to high achievers aiming for top grades.


In all cases, I've helped students significantly improve their grades and confidence in Mathematics. The tutoring experience has spanned individual and group lessons, with students in the Netherlands and internationally via online platforms. I have particularly enjoyed the challenges of adapting my teaching style to meet the needs of students with different learning styles.


My students often tell me they appreciate my patience and the clarity of my explanations, which, they say, helps them to see Mathematics in a whole new light. The biggest reward for me is when students go from saying "I can't do this" to "I can do this," a transformation I've been fortunate to witness numerous times.

My tutoring philosophy is rooted in the understanding that every student is unique, with different strengths and learning styles. Therefore, my teaching approach is personalized. I first assess the student's understanding of the subject, identifying gaps and misconceptions. I then design a tailored learning plan to address these areas and to align with the student's academic goals.


The lessons are interactive, and I encourage students to ask questions and participate actively in solving problems. I aim to create a positive learning environment where mistakes are treated as opportunities for learning. I use real-life examples and applications to make the subject more relatable and interesting. Regular assessments help me to monitor the student's progress and adapt the teaching plan as required.


Moreover, I provide students with useful study techniques and tips for effective revision. I am committed to not just improving the student's grades, but also nurturing their passion for the subject and boosting their confidence.
