Cambridge Uni - MPhil Economics | Oxford Uni - PhD Economics
My name is Pauline. I am a fully-funded DPhil student studying at the University of Oxford in Economics at Balliol College. Previously, I completed an MPhil in Economics Research at the University of Cambridge (Pembroke College) with the equivalent of a Merit grade, and earned a First Class undergraduate degree in Economics at the University of Glasgow, where I finished 1st out of 266 students. I'm French, lived in the UK for 6 years, so I understand international students. I'm passionate about empowering men and women in Economics. I tutor A-levels for Oxbridge and teach economics/econometrics.

Tutoring Experience
I hold an MPhil in Economics Research from the University of Cambridge, achieving a Merit equivalent, and graduated with First Class honors in Economics from the University of Glasgow, ranking first among 266 students. Despite my French nationality, I've immersed myself in the UK for the past 6 years, fostering a deep understanding of international student experiences.
Specializing in guiding students towards Oxbridge admissions, I offer comprehensive support in extracurricular economics, TSA preparation, personal statement crafting, and interview readiness. My expertise also extends to clarifying complex undergraduate economics and econometrics concepts.
With admissions success at both Oxford and Cambridge, I offer invaluable insights into the application process, including nuanced knowledge of college specifics. Drawing from my background in eloquence competitions and drama, I provide tailored feedback on interview techniques, enhancing delivery, critical thinking, and body language.
My research focuses on game theory, labor economics, and environmental economics, bolstered by scholarships from both Oxford and Cambridge, enriching my ability to advise on standout personal statements.
Having accrued significant teaching experience, totaling nearly a year, I've conducted over 70 hours of tutoring. Working closely with five students on a long-term basis, our sessions delve into extracurricular economics topics, enhancing their appeal to admissions officers. Additionally, I've supported numerous students with TSA/TMUA preparation, personal statement refinement, and mock interviews.
During the previous year, I dedicated 67 hours, guiding seven students through long-term tutoring towards their Oxbridge aspirations. Moreover, I've assisted approximately 20 students with tasks ranging from TMUA preparation to interview practice and personal statement enhancement.
Tutoring Approach
I have been described as hardworking, organized, and pleasant to work with in the past, evidenced by maintaining long-term relationships with students who eagerly join my sessions weekly for over a year now. I hope to bring this same dedication and positivity to our sessions, striving to not only be efficient but also to demystify the entire Oxbridge phenomenon for you. My goal is to ensure that my students approach their exams and interviews feeling relaxed and well-prepared, while simultaneously pushing them to reach their fullest potential.
I conduct my sessions through Zoom, utilizing screen-sharing capabilities and always keeping OneNote readily available. This allows me to seamlessly integrate visual aids and explanations, and even write out mathematical concepts in real-time if needed, ensuring a dynamic and interactive learning experience.
Testimonials
"What I like from your tutoring is the fact you try to make sure that I’ve understood everything, even if I am lacking some knowledge, you try to explain a concept in a way I can understand it. You also like to go to a higher depth than I am taught in at school, which is closer to how Economics is at University"
Admissions student, James
