Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring IB DP students, primarily from my former school, for a couple of years since completing the IBDP program with 7s. My tutoring experience spans IB Mathematics AA and AI, IB Chemistry, and IB Physics, working with students of varying levels. I particularly enjoy the challenge of helping students understand difficult topics and build confidence in their abilities. I have supported students over extended periods, helping them achieve significant improvements in their overall grades and understanding, as well as in shorter, focused sessions to prepare for specific tests or address particular topics.

Tutoring Approach

Before each session, I ask students in advance which areas they’d like to cover, allowing me to prepare by researching the topic, identifying common questions, and selecting exam-relevant materials. I emphasize the importance of exam preparation by working through past papers and ensuring that students can see how different topics interconnect. During our sessions, I guide students through problem-solving while encouraging their input, fostering a deeper understanding of the material and building their confidence.

Maintaining clear communication is a cornerstone of my teaching approach. I regularly ask students to explain their thought processes and review the homework or practice questions I assign, ensuring they stay engaged and on track. To make lessons dynamic and accessible, I incorporate tools like my iPad for interactive explanations and recommend helpful resources, such as YouTube videos, for additional learning support. By creating an open and supportive environment, I aim to encourage students to ask questions and tackle challenging problems, ultimately helping them master the material.
