Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring the LSAT since June 2019. During this time, I have tutored close to 60 students. Depending on each student’s needs, I have developed curriculums that ranged from a single session to over a year of weekly sessions. I have helped students with starting scores in the 120s develop a solid understanding of the material and I have helped experienced students earn scores in the 170s. I also have experience creating modified curriculums for students with approved testing accommodations. I recently expanded my tuition to include the GRE Verbal.

Tutoring Approach

LSAT and GRE Verbal Tuition Approach

My approach to teaching the LSAT is centred around practice problems. I ask my students to complete timed practice sections between our sessions. During our sessions, we will discuss and work through any questions that the student struggled with. This allows my students to learn complex logical principles and apply these principles to the realities of the test. If I notice a pattern emerge with the questions a student is struggling with, I will devote a lesson to correcting the issue. I will also modify the lesson plan if a student would like to focus on a particular section of the test.

My approach to teaching the GRE Verbal is a combination of reviewing practice problems and working with students to learn GRE vocabulary. I ask my students to complete timed practice sections between our sessions. During our sessions, we will discuss and work through any questions that the student struggled with. This allows my students to familiarize themselves with the aspects of the test and to connect concepts to examples.
