Tutoring Approach

My tutoring approach centers around the philosophy “Big picture, small details.” I emphasize to help my students understand the main concepts of their assigned work first, and then to build on that foundation with all additional important details. For biology, I work on understanding concepts and knowing examples rather than trying to memorize all information. For chemistry, physics, and mathematics, I work to help students become exposed to as many different types of problems as possible, in order to ensure understanding of the material and guarantee the ability to think critically. For college admissions, I work closely with students to iron out applications and create a narrative that best highlights the student’s strengths and creates the most insightful view into them.
