Tutoring Experience

For the past six years, I've been honing my skills as an IB Mathematics tutor, providing individual and group tutoring sessions to students worldwide. I've spent over 1800 hours tutoring, making complex mathematical concepts easily digestible for students of all aptitudes. From assisting with homework to guiding Extended Essays and Internal Assessments in Mathematics, I've done it all.

Many of my students have gone on to achieve 6s and 7s in their Mathematics HL and SL exams, with several even pursuing mathematics or related fields at university level. My proudest moment was helping a student who was struggling with mathematics overcome his fear and achieve a 6 in his Mathematics HL exam.

Tutoring Approach

I believe in creating a relaxed learning environment where students feel comfortable expressing their doubts and ideas. My teaching approach emphasizes understanding over rote memorization. I usually start each session by discussing a mathematical concept, followed by problem-solving exercises to cement that concept. I also make use of visual aids and real-life examples wherever possible to make the learning experience more engaging.

To prepare for exams, I ensure my students are familiar with past paper questions and I provide tips on how to approach different types of problems. For Internal Assessments and Extended Essays, I offer guidance on choosing a topic, structuring the paper, and refining mathematical arguments.

It is my aim to not just help my students excel academically but to also instill in them a genuine appreciation for the elegance and applicability of mathematics.
