Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring for over five years, dedicating more than 2000 hours to teaching IB Maths and Physics. My experience spans a diverse range of students from various schools in Singapore and abroad, both one-on-one and in small groups.

My students consistently show improvements, many scoring 6s and 7s in their HL Maths and Physics exams. I've been particularly successful in helping students who initially struggle to grasp complex mathematical concepts and physical phenomena.

Besides teaching the core material, I have helped students prepare their Internal Assessments, and Extended Essays, making sure they are thorough and well-structured. I am proud of the fact that the students I have tutored have not only improved in their grades but have also grown to enjoy the subjects.

Tutoring Approach

My tutoring approach is student-centered and tailored to each individual's needs. For Maths, I focus on understanding the concepts at a fundamental level before tackling more complex problems. I guide students in recognizing patterns and applying the most effective mathematical tools in a given scenario. For Physics, I emphasize understanding physical concepts intuitively and not merely as mathematical abstractions. This includes real-world examples to demonstrate the application of these concepts.

I consistently use past paper questions to familiarize students with the exam format and to sharpen their problem-solving skills. Regular quizzes and discussions are part of my strategy to keep the students engaged and to check their understanding. I also believe in giving constructive feedback on their work and providing guidance for improvement. This, I believe, is the most effective way to instill confidence and an in-depth understanding of the subjects.
