Tutoring Experience

In the past four years, I've dedicated over 800 hours to tutoring IGCSE and A-Level students, with a particular emphasis on Biology. I've successfully prepared students for their exams, and many have achieved excellent grades under my guidance. My previous experience includes working at a renowned tutoring centre in Hong Kong and providing one-on-one home tuitions. I've also worked as a teaching assistant during my Master’s studies, providing me with additional insights into effective teaching methods.

My approach to tutoring is both empathetic and rigorous, and I have consistently received positive feedback from my students and their parents. I take great pride in my ability to inspire a love for biology and science in my students.

Tutoring Approach

My tutoring strategy begins with assessing the individual needs of each student. For A-Level and IGCSE exams, I aim to ensure the student has a deep understanding of the key concepts in biology. I encourage my students to adopt a problem-solving approach to understand and apply biological concepts, which I believe is more effective than rote learning. I also emphasize the importance of past paper practice, and provide detailed feedback on their answers to enhance their examination skills.

Additionally, I use visual aids and practical examples from everyday life to make the concepts more relatable and easy to grasp. In addition to teaching the curriculum, I assist with coursework and give tips on how to effectively manage time and study efficiently. It is my utmost priority to create a supportive learning environment that helps students overcome any difficulties they might encounter in their studies.
