Tutoring Experience
I've been privileged to tutor Mathematics to IB students for the past six years, amounting to over 1000 hours of tutoring time. I've tutored students of diverse backgrounds and abilities, ranging from those striving for a perfect score to those who find Mathematics particularly challenging.
My teaching experience spans both individual and group settings, and I've successfully helped students improve their grades significantly. This success is not only reflected in their improved understanding and application of mathematical concepts but also in the confidence they have gained in tackling problems independently.
My students have gone on to attend some of the most prestigious universities, both in Germany and globally. One of the most rewarding aspects of tutoring is seeing the progression of my students, not only academically but also personally, as they become more confident in their abilities and develop a deeper appreciation for the subject.
Tutoring Approach
My tutoring approach is rooted in the belief that the key to learning Maths is understanding concepts, not rote memorization. I strive to make my sessions interactive, always encouraging my students to express their thoughts and doubts.
We start with a brief discussion of the topic at hand, where I explain the core concepts. Then we delve into problem-solving, dissecting each problem methodically. I guide my students towards the solution, prompting them to think critically about each step. By explaining the reasoning behind each process, I aim to foster a deep understanding of the material. Regular assessments are conducted to monitor the student's progress, and their feedback helps me tailor my approach to meet their individual learning style.
My ultimate goal is not just to prepare students for their exams but to instill in them a love for Maths that will help them in their further studies and careers.
