Tutoring Experience

I have been a private tutor over the past six years, with experience teaching middle, high school and college students, including as a University Tutor at UCLA. My previous students who received tutelage in SAT I; SAT II; IB/AP Math, Biology, Chemistry (both IB Higher and Standard Levels); and application essay guidance have successfully gained acceptances into UC Berkeley, UCLA, Emory University, University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, New York University, University of Southern California, Georgia Institute of Technology, Seoul National University, Yonsei University, and Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.

Tutoring Approach

For the SATs, I help the students in both content mastery and test-taking skills. To do so, I utilize practice exams to understand the student’s strengths and weaknesses, then create individualized plans for each student by subject.

For IB/AP exams, I focus on helping students build a strong conceptual ground first, then progress onto practice questions to solidify students’ understanding of each subject.

With university application essay guidance, I help students create a comprehensive narrative that fit to the overall application. I also provide proof-reading and grammar correction.
