Tutoring Experience

I have 4 years of tuition experience, across a range of qualifications and abilities. With respect to Maths GCSE and A Level, I have experience in tutoring each and my students have seen success in achieving the grades they hoped to get. As well as this, I have extensive experience in tutoring KS3 students, and primary students ahead of the 11+ tests.

Tutoring Approach

I believe the best way to tutor maths is to build on the knowledge a student already has.

Rather than presenting information to memorise and repeat in an exam, I hope to build an understanding that can be used flexibly in all maths-related subjects. This will involve clear, logical explanations of new topics in conjunction with example questions and my own created questions. This clarity will allow for all work done in school to be supported by further work at the student’s own pace.

For the STEP papers, I will take the time to work through the many available past questions, planning on introducing and explaining the unusual methods required to solve them. Although I am not a Cambridge student, my STEP results were excellent.
