Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring for three years. I have tutored subjects within the field of science and languages. I have only worked briefly with another online platform however most of the time I was offering private face to face tutoring.

In 2019 I worked with three GCSE students in Portugal. I taught one of them Biology and the other Chemistry. The Biology student was a visual learner, so I tailored my teaching to best fit her needs. I expressed many concepts through visual diagrams which helped her understand the topics much better. The Biology student progressed from a C/B grade onto an A* grade in her final exam. Furthermore, I helped the Chemistry student progress from a D grade to a strong B grade in his final exam.

Moreover, in 2020 I tutored two IB students in Portugal. I tutored one girl higher level Biology and another girl standard level Chemistry. I taught both of them many effective memorization techniques. I also helped them conceptualize greater concepts by breaking them down into more understandable and approachable theories. Most importantly I provided them with a resource bank of past papers for practise. I was able to take one student from a 4 to a 6 grade and the other one from a 3 to a 5 grade.

Subsequently, in 2020 I tutored a younger KS3 student in Maths, together we worked on many practise questions which enabled the student to understand better many mathematical concepts.

Lastly, in 2021 I tutored an IB student Spanish, together we worked our way through many practise past paper questions. The student progressed from a grade 4 to a grade 6 in his final exam.
