Tutoring Experience

Over the past four years, I have accumulated over 500 hours of tutoring experience in both IGCSE and A-Level Biology. I have guided numerous students towards academic success, helping them grasp challenging concepts and excel in their examinations. My students have gone on to study biological sciences in esteemed universities across the world, and many attribute their success to the foundation we built together in our tutoring sessions.


Aside from my formal tutoring experience, I was also a Teaching Assistant during my Master's program at Universiti Sains Malaysia, providing me with invaluable experience in crafting effective teaching methodologies and understanding diverse learning needs. Furthermore, I have been invited several times as a guest speaker to local schools for career talks and biology seminars.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to tutoring revolves around understanding the unique needs of each student. For me, biology isn't just about memorizing facts - it's about appreciating the intricate beauty of life processes and systems. Therefore, I aim to inspire a deep understanding and curiosity in my students beyond their textbooks.


To achieve this, we first identify the topics the student is struggling with. Then, I employ various tools such as diagrams, videos, and real-life examples to explain these topics. We also practice extensively with past papers and tailor-made quizzes to familiarize the student with exam format and build their confidence.


Feedback is crucial in my sessions. I believe in giving detailed, constructive feedback to help students understand their strengths and areas of improvement. More importantly, I encourage students to self-assess their work to foster independent learning.
