Emma Kate has tutored for five years in a variety of subjects, including a high volume of ACT tutoring, PSAT tutoring, AP subject tutoring, and general middle school subject tutoring. Students have raised their ACT scores as many as twelve points while working with Emma Kate, and many have received fives on their AP exams after working with Emma Kate. Students have also been accepted into Ivies, top 20 schools, and military academies after working with Emma Kate.

Daily activities are modified to fit the learning style of the individual student. For subject tutoring in tandem with a class, Emma Kate typically works through the most recent classroom content with the student and then assists the student as they attempt practice problems more independently. When preparing for an in class exam, she helps the student review by creating a study guide and completing a range of practice problems.

In preparation for standardized tests, Emma Kate assesses the current state of the student’s preparation by assigning pre-test questions and then identifies the student’s weaknesses and strengths. In light of these weaknesses, she teaches testing skills specific to the student’s needs. Periodically, she will work through more practice exams with the student to determine the student’s growth. If the student is still struggling with the same topics and skills, Emma Kate will take a different approach to discussing these topics with the student to better fit their needs.
