Tutoring Experience

I have extensive experience teaching IB Biology across various international settings, including schools in Turkey and the United States. As Head of the Science Department at Beştepe Schools, I developed expertise in tailoring lessons to meet students’ diverse needs. My role as an IB Examiner for ESS Internal Assessments and Paper 2 equips me with a strong understanding of exam expectations, which I incorporate into lessons to prepare students effectively.

My focus is on helping students master complex IB Biology topics through interactive teaching methods, such as real-world case studies, hands-on experiments, and personalized progress tracking. Whether in group or one-on-one settings, I strive to instil confidence and curiosity in my students while building their understanding of key IB concepts.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is tailored to IB Biology, focusing on identifying weaknesses and addressing them systematically. Lessons are structured using past IB exam questions to ensure relevance and challenge. Students receive homework for reinforcement, and I review answers in subsequent lessons to solidify understanding.

I continuously test students’ knowledge with pre-session quizzes, guiding them with hints through difficult IB Biology topics. During online sessions, I utilise digital whiteboards and an iPad to create an interactive environment. Presentations are shared for reference, and I monitor engagement closely, offering breaks as needed to maintain focus. This structured, student-focused method helps students excel in IB Biology while enjoying the learning process.
