Tutoring Experience

I have extensive experience teaching biology across international curricula, with a strong focus on AP Biology. Over the past three years, I have refined my ability to prepare students for AP exams by tailoring lessons to match College Board expectations. My teaching experience spans schools in Turkey and the United States, where I served as a Biology Teacher and Head of Science at Beştepe Schools.

This diverse experience has enabled me to develop engaging teaching strategies, including real-world applications, hands-on experiments, and exam-focused lessons. My role as an IB Internal Assessment Examiner has equipped me with a strong understanding of academic rigor, which I incorporate into AP Biology lessons to guide students in mastering both content and critical thinking skills.

Tutoring Approach

My tutoring approach for AP Biology is highly structured and focused on exam readiness. I begin by identifying weak areas through pre-assessments and tailor lessons to address these gaps. Using College Board-aligned materials, including presentations with AP-style questions, I ensure students engage with challenging content. Homework and review sessions reinforce key concepts, while continuous testing tracks progress and builds exam confidence.

To keep lessons interactive, I integrate tools like online whiteboards and my iPad to illustrate complex biological processes. By maintaining a dynamic and engaging environment, I ensure students stay motivated. Presentations are shared post-lesson, offering valuable revision resources. My goal is to foster both academic achievement and a deeper appreciation for biology.
