Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring students in IB and IGCSE English for over a decade. My teaching experience extends across diverse classroom settings including one-on-one, online and group tutorials. I've had the privilege of supporting a wide spectrum of learners, ranging from those who struggle with English to those who aim for the highest distinction. My ability to differentiate my teaching based on my student's needs has led to consistent improvements in their English language proficiency and academic grades.

Tutoring Approach

My philosophy in teaching is rooted in the belief that every student is unique and deserves a customized approach to learning. Therefore, my initial goal in every tutoring session is to understand my student’s needs, strengths, and areas of improvement. I then devise a teaching strategy that accommodates these factors. For my IB and IGCSE students, I emphasize on mastering the structure and format of various exam components, as well as enhancing their vocabulary and comprehension skills. We work on various text types, including but not limited to narratives, discursive and argumentative essays. A focus on critical thinking and creative expression is central to my teaching approach. I believe in fostering an environment that encourages questions, sparking curiosity, and enhancing their love for the subject.
