Tutoring Experience

For the past five years, I have been providing one-on-one and group tutoring in IB Mathematics. In this time, I have logged over 1,500 hours of teaching, catering to a diverse array of students each with their unique learning styles.

My students have consistently achieved high grades, but beyond these numerical outcomes, I take pride in helping them develop an appreciation for the elegance and universality of Mathematics. The most fulfilling part of my job is witnessing my students overcome challenges and experience those 'aha' moments. In addition to my private tutoring, I've also volunteered at a local community center, offering free Maths lessons to underprivileged students.

This experience has deepened my commitment to teaching and understanding the diverse needs of students. I believe that every student deserves a fair chance at success, and I strive to provide this opportunity to my pupils.

Tutoring Approach

I approach tutoring with a philosophy of 'understanding before memorizing.' In each lesson, I aim to demystify mathematical concepts and encourage my students to see the logical flow of ideas. I take time to explain the 'why' behind each concept before moving on to the 'how.' This strategy fosters deep understanding, rather than mere rote memorization.

We also discuss real-life applications to make the learning more tangible and relevant. Each tutoring session is tailored to the student's individual needs, progressing at their pace while ensuring a firm grasp of each topic. Regular mini-quizzes help me gauge their understanding and identify areas for further reinforcement.

Prior to examinations, we conduct intensive review sessions, where we solve past paper questions and discuss test-taking strategies. Throughout this process, my goal is to make Mathematics approachable and enjoyable, boosting the student's confidence in their own abilities.
