Tutoring Experience

I have done some form of tutoring for 3 years with students of varying ages and have developed a tutoring approach to help establish a foundational understanding and facilitate enjoyment of the learning process. My students have seen marked improvements in their test scores and grades (as large as a two letter-grade increase) and have noted greater comprehension and retention of material. I have also helped students excel in their final exams, clarifying concepts that remained unclear throughout the semester.

Tutoring Approach

I try as best I can to keep learning engaging and cater my lesson to how my student is feeling on a given day. In a typical first session, I will introduce myself and get to know the student a little bit. I try to understand my student's relationship with the subject being tutored, what previous experience they have in the subject, what they're goals are, and how they feel they learn best. I always try to be adaptive as my focus as a tutor is to address my students' needs and help them along the way to reaching their goals.
