Tutoring Experience
I have tutored students for Linguistics admissions to the University of Cambridge. I feel particularly confident teaching personal statement writing, as writing has always been one of my strengths, which is reflected in the high marks I received in my essay-based degree and in my student journalism portfolio. In addition to my tutoring experience in Linguistics, I have plenty of experience teaching French and Mathematics to students of various ages, ranging from 9 to 17 years old. I studied both subjects at A-Level, along with Economics, achieving A* grades in all three. I feel confident teaching these subjects at any school level, as well as providing guidance for university admissions, as mentioned above. Regarding my teaching experience, I was employed as a Sports and Activities Coordinator at the Future Founders summer camp at Harrow International School Hong Kong in July 2024. This role deepened my experience in working with children and teenagers, helping them to engage and learn effectively.
Tutoring Approach
My tutoring approach is centred on providing a personalized learning experience that caters to the unique needs of each student. With a strong academic background in Linguistics and Management from the University of Cambridge and extensive experience in teaching a range of subjects, I confidently guide students in areas such as personal statement writing, French, Mathematics, and Economics. My lessons are interactive and engaging, designed to build both understanding and confidence, ensuring that students are well-prepared for exams and university admissions.
In addition to academic support, I focus on developing long-term skills like critical thinking and effective communication. My experience as a Sports and Activities Coordinator at the Future Founders summer camp in Hong Kong has further refined my ability to connect with students of all ages, making learning both enjoyable and impactful. My ultimate goal is to empower students to achieve their full potential and succeed in their academic and professional endeavors.
