Tutoring Experience

Over the past six years, I have had the privilege of tutoring a diverse group of students, primarily focusing on IB Biology. My journey began during my undergraduate studies at Utrecht University, where I discovered a passion for teaching while assisting my peers with challenging biology concepts. This passion blossomed into a full-fledged career during my Master’s studies, where I began tutoring high school students in Biology and Science.

Throughout my career, I have successfully helped students improve their grades, often by two or more levels, by tailoring my teaching methods to their individual learning styles. My experience extends across both online and in-person settings, enabling me to effectively adapt to various learning environments. In addition to standard tutoring, I have also prepared students for university entrance exams, focusing on biology sections, and have guided them through their IB Internal Assessments and Extended Essays with notable success.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching philosophy revolves around understanding each student’s unique learning style and adapting my methods to meet their specific needs. I believe in breaking down complex biological concepts into manageable, relatable chunks, using analogies and real-life examples to make the material more accessible and engaging.

I encourage active participation through open-ended questions that promote critical thinking and deeper understanding. Regular feedback and assessments are integral to my approach, allowing me to track progress and identify areas that require further attention. My goal is not just to improve grades but to foster a genuine interest in the life sciences, inspiring students to pursue their academic and career aspirations with confidence.
