Tutoring Experience

I began my teaching career in a Sixth Form College, focusing on A Level and GCSE English, where I also became the English Curriculum Leader. Later, I taught in a UK Secondary School for six years, specialising in GCSE and A Level English, and served as Assistant Head of Department overseeing the A Level curriculum.

My international experience includes nine years teaching IGCSE and IB English at a leading school in Vietnam. This role allowed me to work with students preparing for IGCSE, helping them improve their literary analysis, written communication, and exam strategies. My role also included mentoring students through extended essays and Theory of Knowledge components.

Tutoring Approach

My tutoring approach is tailored specifically for IGCSE English students, focusing on building analytical, writing, and comprehension skills. I provide personalised lessons to address individual challenges, reinforce key exam techniques, and deepen understanding of literary texts.

By adapting to each student’s learning style, I aim to strengthen their confidence in English while fostering a love for literature. My sessions include practice with past papers, detailed feedback on writing, and structured strategies to enhance clarity and argumentation, preparing students thoroughly for IGCSE English success.
