Tutoring Experience
I am a teacher who loves helping people understand math. I studied Aeronautical Engineering at Imperial College London, where I got top grades for solving tough problems and using lots of math.
After that, I went to the University of Bath to learn how to teach math really well. I started teaching students aged 11-18, and because I worked hard, I became a Highly Accomplished Teacher in 2021.
I've taught at different schools, like King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Boys, where I did really well in A-Level studies and math challenges.
Now, I'm the Leader of Mathematics at Loreto College Marryatville. I help students learn math in new and exciting ways. I'm also involved in different roles like being a Maths Pathway Leader, Senior STEM Club Coordinator, and McGrath House Liaison, which means I care about more than just math—I care about the whole education experience.
At Royal Grammar School Worcester, I teach Mathematics and Further Mathematics. I do other things too, like being a Form Tutor and helping with extracurricular activities like the Duke of Edinburgh Award. It's all about helping students grow and enjoy learning.
Throughout my career, I've kept learning and improving as a teacher. I want students to love math, so I always try to make learning fun and create a welcoming space for everyone. My experience shows that I'm not just good at math; I'm also committed to making sure students become well-rounded individuals through education.
Tutoring Approach
I have a strong passion for mathematics, and I actively tutor outside my regular school hours because I love seeing my students grow in confidence, regardless of their abilities. Building positive and enjoyable relationships with my students is a priority for me. My tutoring approach involves tailoring sessions to the required difficulty level.
My teaching style is characterized by clarity, methodical explanations, visual aids, and numerous examples. While I am adept at teaching a broad range of senior mathematical content, I've also enjoyed tutoring younger students (aged 7+) in both mathematics and literacy.
I am comfortable working with tutees who need extensive support, as well as those requiring extension activities. My extensive experience spans students with varying abilities and needs. Specifically, I have considerable expertise in teaching A-level mathematics, GCSE/IGCSE Mathematics, and Further Mathematics.
