Tutoring Experience
I started teaching formally when I was a graduate student at the University of Chicago. There, my teaching concentrated mostly on first and second year undergraduate math courses. Since then, I have had the chance to teach all sorts of math courses (Calculus, Linear Algebra, Abstract Algebra, Discrete Math, Quantitative Methods for Business, and more), at Universidad de los Andes and Simon Fraser University.
I have been tutoring for a while. I remember tutoring peers as far back as Junior High School. Tutoring has always been great fun for me, it doesn’t get any better than helping someone by sharing a subject that you love. I have had the pleasure and privilege of tutoring lots of students on lots of different math topics and GMAT.
It’s wonderful to see former tutoring students going on to have successful careers in their own fields. One of my students at University of Chicago went on to attend Harvard Business School, and then became a founder of the first Tech Unicorn in Southeast Asia. My first GMAT student, after not having touched math for more than a decade, had a wonderful GMAT and was then accepted to his first choice MBA program (McGill Desautels).
