More information about me:
I am originally from Amsterdam, I went up to Oxford in 2017 to read Classics at Magdalen College, adding Modern Greek to my degree a year later.
During my time at Oxford I was involved in, among others, debating, rowing and student journalism. Upon finishing my exams (First Class Honours, 3rd of my year in Classics and Joint Schools), I moved back for a brief period to Amsterdam and then on Paris: there I have been working several jobs, while also studying French literature and philosophy in my spare time.
I am now due to start an MPhil in Politics and International Studies at Christ's College, Cambridge, this October, as well as holding an offer for an MA in International Relations from John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (starting in October 2024).
Besides English, Dutch and Greek, I speak French and Italian.
Tutoring Approach
My tutoring stands out for its versatility and scope. I strive to provide highly structured lessons which touch on several academic fields, while still letting myself in large part be guided by the particular student's imput and interest.
My favourite kind of lessons are those structured around a predetermined theme---e.g. 'community' or 'satire'---which is then examined, over the course of two or three meetings, from various angles, historical periods, philosophers and authors etc., accompanied with (short) secondary reading.
