Tutoring Experience

I have four years of tutoring experience, initially teaching GCSE History and English Language in small groups. Since February 2021, I have provided over 65 hours of one-on-one and online History tutoring, specializing in the WJEC and AQA exam boards. As a Cambridge student ambassador, I’ve led seminars for A-Level History students, helping them develop critical thinking and source analysis skills. My mentoring has guided students through Oxbridge applications, resulting in offers to study History at top colleges like Christ’s, Cambridge.

My lessons focus on consolidating knowledge of key historical periods, enhancing essay writing skills, and developing critical thinking. We’ll start by identifying areas needing improvement and set clear goals for progress. I guide students to craft compelling arguments and understand various perspectives within historical debates. Lessons include essay planning, source analysis, and contextual evaluation, ensuring confidence in handling GCSE exam questions. My goal is to build analytical skills and historical insight while helping students excel in exams.
