Tutoring Experience

Over the past nine years, I have taught over 300 hours of IB and IGCSE Chemistry. I have a diverse range of students from all over the world, owing to online tutoring platforms, as well as students from local Indonesian schools. I have refined my teaching approach based on each student's individual learning style, resulting in improved grades and more in-depth understanding of the subject.

I have also created comprehensive study guides and practice problem sets which are tailored to the specifications of the IB and IGCSE curriculum. In addition, I also have experience coaching students through their Internal Assessment, providing them with guidance on experimental design and analysis. Furthermore, my students have consistently praised my ability to break down complex topics into digestible information.

Tutoring Approach

Chemistry, being a practical subject, requires more than just theoretical understanding. My approach to tutoring focuses on conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, and examination techniques. I use practical examples and real-life applications of chemistry to make lessons more relatable and interesting. For IB and IGCSE examinations, we will work on past paper questions and I will guide students in answering questions effectively by understanding what the examiners are looking for.

For the Internal Assessment, I will provide constructive feedback on their draft and guide them through the process of designing and conducting an experiment, focusing on the correct use of scientific methods. The ultimate aim of my tutoring is not just to prepare students for their exams, but also to nurture their interest and curiosity in the fascinating world of Chemistry.
