Tutoring Experience

I have spent the last five years tutoring Economics at the International Baccalaureate and IGCSE levels, accumulating over 1,000 hours of teaching time. My experience ranges from facilitating understanding of complex economic models to teaching the art of essay writing. With my guidance, many of my students have seen significant grade improvements and even achieved perfect scores. I believe in developing strong relationships with students and parents alike, creating a conducive learning environment that is both rigorous and supportive.

In addition to my tutoring experience, I have also lectured Economics at a university level in Indonesia, providing me with a broad range of teaching experiences and a profound understanding of the subject matter. I am also a certified Tutor for the IB Diploma Programme by the IBO.

Tutoring Approach

For IB and IGCSE Economics, my approach focuses on two core areas: understanding and application. First, I ensure students have a strong foundational understanding of economic concepts. I explain these concepts using real-world examples, making the lessons more engaging and relatable. For application, I guide students on how to apply the economic principles to exam-style questions.

I believe it's important to not just learn but also understand how to apply knowledge, especially in Economics. I encourage interactive sessions where students can openly ask questions and express their thoughts. I also provide constructive feedback on their coursework and essays. I emphasize the importance of critical thinking and constantly challenge my students to look at the bigger economic picture, and relate the theory to current economic events.
