Firstly, place a thermometer in each jar. Cover one of the jars with the plastic wrap, ensuring it's sealed tightly. This jar represents the Earth with greenhouse gases. The other jar, without the plastic wrap, represents the Earth without greenhouse gases. Position the lamp at an equal distance from both jars and turn it on. The light from the lamp will act as sunlight.

After about 30 minutes, record the temperature in both jars. You will notice that the temperature in the jar covered with plastic wrap (representing the Earth with greenhouse gases) is higher than the temperature in the other jar. This is because the plastic wrap, like greenhouse gases, traps some of the heat from the lamp, preventing it from escaping back into the environment. This results in a warmer temperature inside the jar, just like the Earth's atmosphere warms due to the greenhouse effect.

This experiment is a simple yet effective way to demonstrate the greenhouse effect. It shows how greenhouse gases in our atmosphere trap heat, leading to an increase in the Earth's temperature. This is a fundamental concept in understanding global warming and climate change.
