The charged particles are then attracted to oppositely charged plates or filters within the purifier, effectively removing dust, pollen, and other contaminants from the air.

In the automotive and manufacturing industries, static electricity is used in paint spraying. The paint particles are given a charge as they exit the spray nozzle. The object to be painted is given an opposite charge, causing the paint particles to be attracted to it. This method ensures a more even coat of paint and reduces waste, as less paint is lost to overspray.

Electrostatic precipitators are devices that remove fine particles like dust and smoke from a flowing gas using the force of an induced electrostatic charge.
