The next step is to obtain an egg cell from a donor organism of the same species. The nucleus of this egg cell is also removed, leaving behind an 'empty' egg cell. This process is known as enucleation.

The nucleus from the somatic cell is then implanted into the enucleated egg cell. This can be done using a fine needle or through a process called fusion, where an electric current is used to fuse the two cells together. The result is an egg cell that contains the DNA of the organism to be cloned.

The egg cell is then stimulated to start dividing and developing into an embryo. This is usually done by applying an electric current or a chemical solution. Once the embryo has developed to a certain stage, it is implanted into the uterus of a surrogate mother.

The surrogate mother then carries the embryo to term and gives birth to the clone. The clone is genetically identical to the organism from which the original somatic cell was taken. However, it's important to note that while the clone shares the same genetic material, environmental factors can lead to differences in appearance and behaviour.
